GEG Awarded Investigation for Major Retail Development

GEG have recently been awarded a contract to undertake the geotechnical and environmental assessment of a multi-million pound supermarket and associated retail development in the North Midlands. The site is located on a former tile works with associated infilled clay pits and in an area of former coal mining. The extensive intrusive investigation incorporates a variety of exploratory techniques including deep rotary (to 30m to identify the presence of any worked coal seams), cable percussive and window sampled boreholes together with trial pitting to determine the geotechnical and environmental parameters within the underlying strata. GEG's resultant comprehensive report will address the foundation and remediation requirements to enable the development to proceed.
