Commercial

GEG’s commercial team have substantial experience of development, liability and land valuation assessment. Commercial projects have ranged from supermarkets, retail, science and logistic park developments to environmental liability/valuation assessments of existing industrial, retail and major manufacturing portfolios for pension fund managers/blue chip clients.

GEG covers all aspects of environmental, geotechnical and ecological consultancy for commercial development or liability/valuation assessment. Our development services range from pre-acquisition ‘abnormal’ costings through phased site investigation and detailed risk assessment to ‘options appraisal’, remediation design, supervision and validation. We can subsequently offer our commercial development clients a ‘turn key’ solution from pre-acquisition to project completion.

In terms of valuation/liability, GEG can offer fund holders/lenders/purchasers a phased approach to determining abnormal environmental costs which allows the client to ascertain the ‘real’ value of an existing site, off-setting the ‘abnormal’ environmental costs against the value of an uncontaminated site. This is typically used during sales discussions, to determine asset valuations for lending purposes or as a general view of site portfolios liability under the Environmental Protection Act 1990 Part 2A (EPA 1990 Part 2A).

GEG also undertake end of lease land condition surveys for landowners to ensure tenants are liable for the clean up costs of any pollution they may have caused during their tenancy (EPA 1990 Part 2A).
