Dan Morgan
It is with a heavy heart and great sadness that I have to announce the death of Dan Morgan, a 26 year old geo-environmental consultant who joined Geo Environmental Group (GEG) in October 2015. Dan died suddenly earlier this year only one day after he was formally diagnosed with Bowel Cancer. The pain that was increasingly affecting his life from last winter onwards was initially diagnosed as spinal. Despite this pain he bravely continued working at GEG to only a few weeks before his death as he said it took his mind off the pain. Eventually we had to advise him to go home and rest as he looked so pale. At that stage we were obviously unaware that he would never return.
Although Dan only joined GEG in October, he quickly fitted into the team, was larger than life in both character and stature, and was universally liked. He also was a very promising engineer and I was looking forward to working with him for many years to come as he developed with the company.
His death came as a complete shock to us all at GEG and it has taken us all months to even come close to coming to terms with such a terrible tragedy. He was just starting the next chapter of his life looking for a house to buy in Malvern for his partner, Jade, and his one year old baby son Logan. He was both a colleague and a friend to us all here and will never be forgotten.
